Release the full potential of your Hyundai i30 1.4 T-GDi (2018 - 2020) engine with the FMINDK67 high-flow induction kit from Forge Motorsport. Engineered to replace the restrictive factory inlet hose and airbox, this upgrade significantly improves airflow to the turbocharger, allowing the engine to breathe more efficiently and respond faster under throttle.

This induction kit is a direct bolt-on replacement for the OEM system, requiring no permanent modifications while ensuring a precise, factory-quality fit. Whether you're aiming for stronger track performance or a more engaging daily driving experience, the FMINDK67 delivers measurable performance improvements along with a more pronounced induction sound under load.

Development and Results

Testing was completed using Performance Remap in Gloucester with their VTEC 4-wheel drive dynamometer, this was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner.

As shown in the dyno results below, peak horsepower increased by 4 BHP with the standard ECU software, however when combined with the Forge Stage 1 ECU calibration . Notably, the power gains begin at 2,300 RPM and continue to rise progressively all the way to the red line.

In addition, torque improvements of up to 12 Nm can be seen from 2400 RPM to 3600 RPM range with further improvement through the rev range. With these combined gains delivered by FMINDK67 the 1.4 GDI engine now feels sharper in the mid-range and continues to pull confidently right up to red line.        

 

 

The benefits can be further increased with an ECU re calibration or a performance tuning module, this allows increased potential to be extracted from your performance hardware by unlocking conservative factory settings, optimising combustion, and allowing the engine with its performance hardware to operate closer to its true potential.

Not only does FMINDK67 deliver enhanced performance, but it is also engineered for exceptional durability. As previously mentioned, it is manufactured from our high-performance silicone featuring a reinforced 5-ply construction combined with an advanced fluoro lining for superior reliability.

Design and Materials


FMINDK67 is what we would call our complete kit as it consists of two products, air filter and heat shield and a turbo inlet adaptor. We have taken this approach with this product because of the data we gathered during the R&D process.

The CAD designed, laser cut, and precision folded heat shield has been designed to form a barrier between the air inlet tract and radiant heat from the engine. It also helps duct the cold air to the air filter as the design incorporates the original cold air ducting which helps preserve low intake temperatures and in-turn produces an increase in power.

Aesthetically, this induction kit looks very purposeful in the engine bay and finished in our black textured powder coating, in all creates a superior high quality product, with an OEM look.

During dyno testing, we tried several filter configurations and once again turned to the industry leaders and Forge long term filtration partners Pipercross. With over 25 years’ experience in both the domestic and motorsport market they recommended a multi-layer foam construction filter, these filters work perfectly in our ‘Hi-Flow’ range. The large filter provided flows 60% more air than the stock filter. (Replacement filters can be found here). 

Where the real gains have been achieved are in the improvements of the inlet hose. First, we eliminate the internal muffler found in the OE pipework. While this component is designed to reduce intake noise and create a more refined engine note, it also introduces turbulence and restricts airflow. These restrictions become even more apparent on tuned vehicles and are often the first area our engineers target for improvement.


With the factory limitations removed, the next step is increasing the internal diameter of the Forge design. A larger bore allows a greater volume of air to flow directly into the turbocharger, enabling more air to be compressed thanks to the increased capacity. This results in improved throttle response, particularly when accelerating after long periods of deceleration or during gear changes, as more air is retained within the intake system.

It’s design has seen an increased diameter from 70mm of the stock inlet pipe to 90mm at the filter housing, we have also increased the area where there is most restriction at the turbo entry which combined have volumetric increase of 26
