It is no secret that the standard catalytic converter on stock cars are known to sap power from the engine due to restricting airflow from the engine and causing a backup. Removing this and replacing it with either the Decat or the Hi-flow sports cat unlocks that lost power as the gases from the engine can flow quicker through the exhaust system.

MINI Cooper JCW F56 Decat

The Scorpion Decat removes the catalyst so that the gases can flow freely down the exhaust system for maximum power. The decat provides the biggest increase in power as there are no restrictions at all.

The Decat is sold for off-road and track road use only as this will fail an MOT and is not road legal.

MINI Cooper JCW F56 Sports-Cat

The Sports-Cat is the perfect option for any tuner who wants their car to provide incredible power whilst still remaining road legal. Unlike the decat, the sports cat has a hi-flow catalyst that filters out the emissions whilst still providing a high flow through the system compared to the stock downpipe.

In order to surpass stage 1, you will need to upgrade your downpipe as the stock cat is unable to deliver the airflow the increase in power demands. Going stage 2 will require either the decat or a sports cat.
